Born in Miami,
Florida, Ralph Provisero is an
active contemporary sculptor. His works have been exhibited in the
United States,
Mexico and Canada, and in a number of important collections,
including the Martin Z. Margulies Collection, the Bass Museum of Art and the
University of
Miami campus. Provisero
currently lives and works in Miami.
Provisero
earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Kansas City Art Institute in 1995.
During his tenure as a student, he helped design and build a studio for the
Industrial Design Department and assisted on projects with artists such as Dale
Eldred, Stelarc and Bob Wade.
Provisero has taught as an art instructor in several capacities and has been a
visiting artist at the University of Miami,
the Kansas City Art Institute and
Washington
University. In 2007, he
received the Atlantic
Center for the Arts/Joan
Mitchell Foundation Scholarship for Visual Artists.
Regularly featured in national and local press, Provisero's work is showcased in Miami Contemporary
Artists, a book by Paul Clemence and Julie Davidow (2007), and
The
Martin Z. Margulies Collection: Painting and Sculpture (2008).
